Web Reference: Sep 23, 2023 · Ernie Ball also has more options for hybrid sets (I personally use 10-52 in my standard tuning guitar and 10-54 in my drop D guitar), while D'Addario stops at 10-46 in their regular XL strings. D'Addario has better packaging, though. I use Ernie Ball because I like them plus they still come in individual envelopes which is great because I keep 37 guitars and basses running (studio, studio rentals, etc) and it’s a lot better to not have a pile of bare strings bouncing around. I buy a LOT of strings.
